I’m a Burnaby parent who believes in public education as something worth fighting for- it’s where equity starts. I joined DPAC because I want parents to have clearer information, better communication with schools, and a real voice in decisions that affect our kids. I care about systems that actually work, but also about the people in them- the teachers, parents, and students trying their best every day. My hope is that DPAC can be a space where we listen first, act thoughtfully, and make change that lasts.

As a mother of three, I’ve been actively involved in PAC and the community since 2017. Two older children graduated from Burnaby North, while the youngest is enrolled in Alpha in grade 11. As a CITP (Certified International Trade Professional) and employed in the film industry, I believe in nurturing a child’s spirit. I’ve initiated the Alpha Expansion Committee (AEC), participated in the DPAC constitution and bylaw committee, and have been a DPAC executive member at large for two years.  I enjoy practicing yoga and spending time in the forest with my dog. I am passionate about helping parents develop together so that all children have equal access to quality education.

I am a home-based bookkeeper, a supportive mother, and a committed community volunteer. Being a mom is my greatest priority, and I balance that with empowering my clients through my bookkeeping practice and contributing to several community organizations. I volunteer with my school PAC and DPAC, support a local food security non-profit, and serve on the board of a charitable daycare. My love of systems, numbers, and spreadsheets supports me in all of these roles.

As a Canadian born to immigrant parents (from the U.S. and Germany), and having lived abroad twice, I value inclusion, acceptance, and empathy. I believe it is important to recognize multiple perspectives, to see beyond black-and-white thinking, and to engage with our community in meaningful ways.

I also happen to think we live in the most beautiful and blessed place in the world; let’s ensure our children are well-educated so that our society can ever strive to be beautiful, too!
